Connect the piano
Turn the Kawai on, then connect it one of these ways. Afterwards tap Try again.
- USB cable (most reliable)
- Plug the piano's USB to Host port (square type B) into the laptop or an Android tablet (with a USB-C adapter). Nothing to pair.
- Bluetooth on a Mac
- Open Audio MIDI Setup, choose Window → Show MIDI Studio, click the Bluetooth icon and connect the piano. Then use Chrome.
- Bluetooth on Android
- Bluetooth MIDI usually has to be connected by an app first, such as a "BLE MIDI connect" app or Kawai's PianoRemote. Then open this site in Chrome. Don't pair it in the normal Bluetooth settings.
- Windows
- Chrome on Windows generally can't use Bluetooth MIDI. Use the USB cable.
- iPhone and iPad
- Safari and Chrome on iOS don't support web MIDI at all. Use a laptop or Android, or a Web MIDI browser app from the App Store.
Also check that Bluetooth MIDI is switched on in the piano's settings. The app stays silent for piano notes, since the piano makes its own sound.
